 Kickoff meeting


The Kickoff meeting of XF-ACTORS, which has officially launched the start of the activities of the project, was held on 14-15 November 2016 at the headquarters of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute (CIHEAM-IAMB), in Valenzano, close to the city of Bari (Italy).

The meeting was attended by the 29 project partners and also by representatives of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and of the Directorates General AGRI and SANTE of the European Commission.

 Needle Inoculation


 The following pictures show the different steps of the needle-inoculation procedure.

Pin-prick inoculations of olives, oleander and myrtle leaf milkwort were done under confined conditions at CNR-IPSP and UNIBA-DiSSPA (Bari, Italy), in early March 2017.

As shown in the pictures, a drop of (10 µL) of inoculum (PBS-bacterial suspension 10^9CFU/ml) is placed on the stem of the plants, and punctured through 5-6 times with a fine needle. Three to 6 points of inoculations are made on the each plant, depending on the size.

1st Annual meeting

The first Annual meeting of XF-ACTORS project has been held jointly with POnTE project (www.ponteproject.eu) on 15 and 16 November, 2017 in Palma de Mallorca at the University of the Balearic Island.

The meeting has been held after the end of the European conference on Xylella fastidiosa, organized by EFSA with the collaboration of UIB, XF-ACTORS, POnTE and EUPHRESCO.
