Xylella Fastidiosa Active Containment Through a multidisciplinary-Oriented Research Strategy

On May 5, 2017, a conference on Xylella fastidiosa will be organized at the CNR headquarters in Rome, Italy (Aula Marconi, piazzale Aldo Moro, 7 – Roma). The conference aims to provide the status of the ongoing research programs on this harmful plant pathogen and its associated disease in olives, i.e. the olive quick decline disease currently threatening olive crop in the southern Italy and posing major risks for the olive industry of the entire Mediterranean basin. A specific focus will be given on the H2020 Research Projects, POnTE and XF-ACTORS, coordinated by the CNR and aiming at investigating approaches for the containment of the impact of the Xylella-infections.

Among the speakers: Massimo Inguscio (President of CNR), Francesco Loreto (Director of the Department of Biology, Agriculture and Food Sciences at CNR), Donato Boscia and Maria Saponari (Researchers at the Institute for Sustainable Plant Protection, CNR Bari and Coordinators of the Consortia POnTE and XF-ACTORS).
