The European Commission announced new measures to contain the spread of Xylella fastidiosa in the EU.
The EU Commission approved the EU Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1201 of 14 August 2020 as regards measures to prevent the introduction into and the spread within the Union of Xylella fastidiosa (Wells et al.) The Commission based the latest research from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
The new regulation defines eradication and containment measures, how surveys should be conducted and measures for import of host plants from third countries.
