BIOCONTROL 2019: a new opportunity to meet and discuss the latest research results and developments in the biocontrol of bacterial plant diseases.

BIOCONTROL 2019 will be developed for the first time in Italy, in Viterbo. It is a historical city placed in Lazio Region, one of the most important Italian regions for agro-food production. The Symposium will be held at Università della Tuscia, Dipartimento di Scienze Agrarie e Forestali (DAFNE) which is part of the unique academic pole of agriculture based research in central Italy.

BIOCONTROL 2019 will focus on the main scientific, technical and political aspects related to the management of the most serious bacterial plant diseases occurring worldwide. The Symposium was developed into 9 core sections, taking into proper account the most relevant topics, such as: the interactions between plants and microbiome, genetics and genomics, till to the production, safety and regulation of biopesticides to control of the most dangerous plant bacterial diseases and their vectors.

Besides the strictly scientific content, the aim of the event is to generate a positive impact not only for the scientific community but also for the industry sector and all green companies involved in processing and distributing bioproducts (from elicitors, botanicals, biocontrol agents, biostimulants, till to sustainable strategies control vectors of phytopathogenic bacteria) related to the aims of BIOCONTROL 2019.

BIOCONTROL 2019 programme will also include 2 meetings related to relevant EU projects concerning several aspects of bacterial plant diseases (COST Action CA16107 EuroXanth, PONTE and XF-Actors).
