On 19 April in Angers (France) the General Assembly of the plant cluster Vegepolys will host a general presentation on the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa by the researcher Marie-Agnes Jacques from INRA.

The General Assembly of Vegepolys, French cluster bringing together companies, research and training centers in the field of plants around innovative projects, will take place on 19 April in Angers (France).

During the Assembly, Marie-Agnes Jacques of INRA (Institut national de la recherche agronomique, partner of the XF-ACTORS consortium) will present the latest insights about the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa to an audience of private companies active in plants business, with a talk focused on: “The emergence of Xylella fastidiosa in Europe: ongoing activities and results achieved so far”.

« Xylella fastidiosa a été détectée pour la première fois en Europe à l’automne 2013 et depuis ce sont plus de 73 espèces végétales qui ont été déclarées contaminées en milieu naturel européen par cette bactérie. La participation de nombreuses équipes de recherche multidisciplinaires à 2 projets européens du programme H2020 a déjà permis d’accroitre sensiblement notre connaissance sur cette bactérie et ses insectes vecteurs, d’améliorer les outils de détection et vise le développement de méthodes de lutte. »
