Biography

Monia Santini, who holds a PhD in forest ecology, is the scientific coordinator of the Impacts on Agriculture, Forest, and Natural Ecosystems (IAFENT) Division at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC). Her research interests are climate change and its interactions with land cover and water uses. She specializes in constructing and applying process-based models to account for the interactions between the climate and land surface components of the hydrologic cycle (vegetation, soil), to better reproduce and project the impact of climate on ecosystems and the services they provide.
