Euphresco network has announced the publication on its website of the Strategic Research Agenda, developed to set the plant health research priorities for the next years, particularly for the sector of plant biosecurity.
With the title “Plant health research co-ordination, cross-sectoral collaboration and learning”, the Agenda wants to stress the fundamental relevance of globalizing the research, in order to setup interdisciplinary approaches able to address challenges both on research, knowledge sharing and decision making support.
As stated in the introduction: “In the context of global trade, phytosanitary research should be global too”. Through a series of analysis and recommendations, the Agenda’s ultimate aim is to increase coordination and cooperation between national, regional and internationally-based research programmes. Given its objectives, the Agenda can represent a useful tool not only for researchers, but also for policy makers and stakeholders, such as industry and non-government organisations, land-owners and the public.
Euphresco is a network of organisations funding research projects and coordinating national research in the phytosanitary area. The overall goal of Euphresco is to support coordination and collaboration in the area of phytosanitary research, and to become a strong, long-term network of funders that fully incorporate existing and new members.
